Pandora Stock Spikes as Buyout Rumors Intensify

PARIS - Could struggling Danish jewelry group Pandora soon fall under new ownership?
Financial analysts on Friday attributed the 12 percent surge in the company's stock price in just over 24 hours to swelling rumors that U.S.-based private equity funds are looking to buy out the company.
By 4:45 p.m. CET, Pandora stock was trading up 8.6 percent to 423.70 Danish krone.
A Pandora spokesman declined to comment on the reports. He said simply that in terms of the company's current shareholders, “there are no major shareholders holding more than 5 percent of the shares.”
